Bank Holiday DIY

This is a parking place of pictures from my Porch Build using the Live Thumbnails java script. It allows you to click on images and they resize (shrink or grow) as appropriate.

Basically, at some point in Jan/Feb of 2006 the front felt of my porch came away. A quick check showed that it needed to be recovered as the whole covering was coming away from the wood underneath. Unfortunately while I'm crawling around on top of it removing the old felt I discover pretty much all of the wood around the supporting parts is rotten. The intention had been to replace it as soon as possible but time/weather conspired to ensure I would have to visit B&Q during the busiest weekend of the year. The tall capable looking fellow is Dan - Master Carpenter and my nephew to boot - I represent the oily rag part of the eqation!

So the first two images are the obligatory before and after shots. Followed by a selection of work-in-progress views taken over the 2 day build. The final image was taken when we had just finished, it's an Higher Dynamic Range image generated by using 3 different exposure settings and merging them into the funky version you see here.
