Icarus' Wings

Our rookie pilot training is based at Penirgman IX Moon 3 Ministry of Internal Order Assembly Plant. We have Level 1 to 4 combat agents in system making life simple to run missions. Here are answers to frequently asked questions.

• Use the low quality agent at Akhragens to build up Level 2 standing before switching to the high quality agent at Pen 6. Using him will get you to the Level 3 agent in quick-time.
• Training Social 3 and Connections 2 helps this along.
• Once you can access Level 4 agents, you should move to Shuria. The agent is lower quality, but being in 0.5 space means greater rewards , both ISK and LP. The majority of Corp pilots mission from Shuria.

Shuria

• Nearest Medical Facility to buy standard Clones: Shuria IV Moon 1
• Nearest Jump Clone Station: Shuria IV Moon 1 (local system)

• Your personal Standing with the Ministry of internal Order (MIO) must be 8.0 or better to use MIO jump clone facilities.

Ship Loss.

Should you lose your ship in a mission, all is not lost. The wreck will hold some, but not all of the fittings from your pride and joy. Clearly if they popped you, it might be difficult to recover it. A couple of points about this:

• NPCs DO NOT kill your pods. Only players, so you can sit still and gather your wits on a mission. If it's PvP you should be spamming the Warp to 0 km button at the top of you overview on ANY celestial icon you can see.
• If you were missioning as a gang, far less likely to happen.

  Ask in Corp chat for someone who is in a bigger better ship to rescue it for you. Failing that, end mission, then go back and get it. The later option will cause a loss of standings.

  Ventrilo Sound Normalisation.

Vent Normalization makes everybodies voice the exact same volume. In essence, you won't blow your ear's out or have difficulty hearing people.

• Go to Setup
• Enable Direct Sound
• Select the SFX Button
• Select Compressor and click Add.
• Under Compressor Properties use the following settings
• Gain = Adjust for how loud you want people to be. (I use 15)
• Attack = 0.01
• Release = Around 500
• Threshold = Around -30
• Ratio = 100
• Pre delay = 4.0

Ventrilo & Multiple Clients

Question: Has anyone found a fix/workaround yet for the PTT key not working unless the Ventrilo window has focus with Windows Vista?
I'm running EQ2 and I can't talk unless the Vent window is open on the desktop, which means I have to run EQ2 in a window.

Answer: Right click on your Ventrilo shortcut and choose "properties". Open the "compatibility" tab and hear the bottom check "run the program as an administrator". Click "apply" and "ok" and you're done.

Rigs.

Essentially implants for ships. Expensive, but useful if you have the correct ones fitted.

• You should ALL be able to see the contents of the Melting hanger
• Name a can with your name and Drop it in the loot hanger, even with out take access you can drop stuff in (and therefore into) a can.
• Egoblast builds rigs on like-for-like basis (as closely to the rig as possible). So, as long as you have enough parts for a rig, pop them in YOUR container in the Melting hangar and eve-mail Egoblast the type of rig you wish built.
• If all components are to hand, it will be made for you and dropped in you hangar. If not, you will be eve-mailed a list of the rig parts you will need to obtain to in order to make the rig you want.
• Unused rig components will be left in your can
• Be warned, cap rigs are very popular - be prepared to wait

Help & Fleets.

Some of you seem a little shy and perhaps it's your first Corp or you feel that you know no-one. I would reiterate that we are a friendly any open bunch, please do join in.

Can I please encourage you to do three things:

1. Please ask questions, we don't bite and are a friendly bunch. This way you get to know us.

2. Get yourself on Ventrilo - save all that typing and the majority of Corps Communications are spoken, so you are missing out, even it abuse..;)

3. Finally, if you are working on your standings, do it in small gangs, you get instant buddies. Simply ask in Corp channel, "anyone for Level x mission in Pen?"

4. To form a gang, right click the other pilot(s) icons and select Form a fleet with/Invite to fleet.
