Not sure where the people naming this package were educated, but I fail to see how paying for maps will elicit anything other than WTF? from gamers...
Hopefully the start of something bigger, nice job gents...
An unofficial tribute to one of our favorite game franchises of all time: Call of Duty. This film was made for the princely sum of $209.42. Now you can finally see what we were working on in the Portal vid!
Hope you enjoy what we've been chugging at here at our loft for the last three days!
Personally I'd not include any console games and Duke Nukem 3D is missing, it used to run my phone bill up like crazy. Still, close enough I guess...
First-person shooters have come to dominate the world of video games. Over the decades, these titles have been able to push platforms to their production limits while employing innovative storytelling and gameplay that brings the medium to a whole new level.
Oh dear, Dice seem to be fumbling the ball...
We're all having a very familiar feeling here in the office: loving a game while simultaneously frustrated, outraged and appalled by its endless connection problems. We've had it with pretty much every Battlefield game for eight years, and the patch for Bad Company 2 released last night suggests developers DICE have learnt little in that time.
Numbers from the game showing what damage is do at what range and info on fall of shot...
VIP members will be able to expand on the deep and ever changing sandbox experience, which in itself provides near endless hours of entertainment, by having new content to keep things fresh. It also plays a vital part in making sure you, the players get proper value for the money you’ve invested in Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
Of course the timing of this leak has nothing to do with Bad Company 2 hitting the shelves...
of course the video went down about 20 seconds after I posted it, screenies still exist though
BC2's teething issues continue:
We are sending out new servers to our providers called "R5". They will be testing them out and changing over the servers by tomorrow evening. This server contains some fixes for the "Connection to the server has been lost" message that a lot of you will have seen.
We are also working on making another new server over the weekend as EA has set up some dedicated front-end boxes just for Battlefield Bad Company 2 which we will update the server to use and should work to improve the stability of connections to EA for everyone.
The good news is at least they offer feedback unlike MW2...
Installed last night just before we went out for a meal - so this is just the initial impression. It looks like Crysis, MW2 looks better IMHO. It comes with punkbuster, which I had to manually update, and the EA login server fell over last night preventing multiplay. It crashed my graphics card twice. Oh, the server bowser won't break any speed records either.
On the plus side, it has protection against cheats, it has dedicated servers and potentially a rosy future given the huge size of maps. Here are some tips on faster server browsing
To help speed up your server browsing these tips can help you get results quicker.
If you use the server browser then
Use the server browser
When it starts to search click CANCEL
Select the options:
You can use your friends list in game to connect on them without accessing the server browser. Sadly the friends list was not functioning yesterday either.
TL:DR:
Buggy, cue version 1.1.
