So the laptop was dusted off last week, the first document I needed to check via email was a PDF (I hate them) and of course as I had not been used for 9 months Acrobat was 8.xx and promptly allowed Antivirus IS to gain a foothold on my machine.  It’s a fake anti-virus programme which reports everything  as a virus (even if they are not) and invites to you to update/download, reveal your credit card details and so on.

I simply disabled wifi, rebooted in safe mode and then used the details above to remove the exes/registry entries and so on.

It is a reminder that not only your AV and Malware programmes need to be up-to-date….

The interface is straight-forward and all the relevant options are explained. Usually first run after windows installations. This latest version, also supports Windows Vista.
